Before the start of the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Peshawar Zalmi’s team was surrounded by Covid-19. A spokesman for Peshawar Zalmai confirmed that Afghan batsman Hazratullah Zazai had also tested positive for the Covid-19. After which he was quarantined.

Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi captain Wahab Riaz, young batsmen Haider Ali, Kamran Akmal, and Arshad Iqbal have also fallen victim to Covid-19. In the absence of Wahab Riaz, Shoaib Malik will be the captain of Peshawar Zalmi. Zalmi has been given two replacements in place of Kamran Akmal and Arshad Iqbal, including Imam-ul-Haq and Hamad Butt. On the other hand, the event technical committee has approved the inclusion of both the players in the squad.
