Former West Indies and Peshawar Zalmi captain and coach Darren Sammy has been awarded the Sitara Pakistan Award. The Government of Pakistan had declared Sitara-e-Pakistan in the year 2020 for the revival and services of international cricket in Pakistan. Darren Sammy received the Star of Pakistan in his hometown. Darren Sammy received the Star of Pakistan by wearing a shalwar kameez.

On this occasion, Darren Sammy said that this star of Pakistan is a great honor for me and I am very proud. Sammy once again expressed his love for Pakistan and said that Pakistan is like his home. Peshawar Zalmai Chairman Javed Afridi while congratulating Darren Sammy on Sitara Pakistan said that the role of Darren Sammy in the revival of international cricket in Pakistan will be remembered in golden letters.
