England captain Eoin Morgan has retired from international cricket. Eoin Morgan’s retirement has been formally announced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). The ECB has said in a statement that England’s World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan has retired from international cricket immediately but will continue to play domestic cricket.

“The decision to retire after the best period of my career was by no means easy, but I think this is the right time for me and England’s white-ball cricket,” said Eoin Morgan.

Eoin Morgan, who has represented England in 225 ODIs and 115 T20s, has scored just two half-centuries in the last 28 white-ball matches. Since being named captain in 2015, Eoin Morgan has led England in 126 ODIs and 72 T20 matches, leading the England cricket team to reach the final of the 2016 T20 World Cup, as well as 2019. Also won the World Cup.
