Islamabad United defeated Quetta Gladiators 43 in a thrilling match | PSL 7

In the tenth match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Islamabad United defeated Quetta Gladiators 43 after a thrilling contest. Quetta Gladiators captain Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and elected to field first in the match being played at National Stadium Karachi.

Batting first, Quetta Gladiators put up a mountain of 229 runs in the allotted 20 overs, Colin Monroe scored an unbeaten 71 while Azam Khan played aggressive innings of 65 runs. Quetta Gladiators did not have a good start in pursuit of the big target. Apart from openers Ahsan Ali and Mohammad Nawaz, no batsman could play resistance innings. Ahsan scored 50 off 27 balls while Nawaz scored 47 runs.

Gladiators’ other batsmen Abdul Wahid Bangalzai 14, captain Sarfraz Ahmed and Ben Duckett 11, 11 while James Faulkner scored 47 runs. For Islamabad United, captain Shadab Khan took five wickets, Hassan Ali two, Waqas Maqsood, and Muhammad Waseem Jr. one each. Earlier, the batsmen of Islamabad United played an aggressive game while the experienced Gladiators League spinner Shahid Afridi bowled the most expensive over in the history of PSL and scored 67 runs.
