Multan Sultans defeated Peshawar Zalmi after a one-sided match | PSL 7

In the second phase of the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Multan Sultans defeated Peshawar Zalmi after a one-sided contest and secured their sixth consecutive victory in the event. In pursuit of Multan Sultans’ target of 183 runs, Peshawar Zalmi’s team was bowled out for 140 runs. Shoaib Malik remained prominent by scoring 44 runs.

In the match played at Zafi Stadium Lahore, Peshawar Zalmi captain Wahab Riaz won the toss and invited Multan Sultans to bat first. Multan Sultans scored 182 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Shaun Masood remained prominent by scoring 68 runs off 49 balls.

Multan Sultans’ innings got off to a great start with opener Shan Masood and captain Mohammad Rizwan forming a 98-run partnership, but Rizwan was dismissed for 34 off 34 balls. The second loss to Multan was in the form of Shan. He returned to the pavilion with 68 runs on a total score of 131. In addition, Tim David scored 34 and Riley Russo 15 runs.

For Peshawar, Wahab Riaz, Salman Irshad, and Saqib Mahmood took 2.2 wickets each. In pursuit of the target, Peshawar did not have a good start and 2 players were out for only 5 runs, Kamran Akmal 4 and Haider Ali scored only one run. After losing 2 wickets, a 37-run partnership was formed between Livingston and Shoaib Malik but they too could not give victory to Zalmai. Livingston was dismissed for 24 runs while Shoaib Malik left the team with 44 runs. Ben Cutting (23) and Rutherford (21) were also dismissed.
