Pakistan Cricket Board announced nominations in various categories for its annual PCB Awards 2021.
Nominations for annual PCB Awards 2021
Impact full Performance of the Year Category
The board has nominated four players for the award in this category, including Fawad Alami, Hassan Ali, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
Fawad Alam and Hassan Ali have been named for their outstanding performances in Test cricket. In contrast, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi have been named for their exceptional performances in the T20I against India.
Emerging Cricketer of the Year category
For this category, the PCB has nominated young Arshad Iqbal, Shahnawaz Dhani, Azam Khan, and Muhammad Wasim Jr., who bowled brilliantly against the West Indies.
Cricketer of the Year category
The PCB has also nominated Babar Azam, captain of all formats of the national team, for Cricketer of the Year 2021, besides openers Fakhr Zaman, Haris Rauf, and Shaheen Afridi have taken eight wickets.
Women’s Cricketer of the Year
Aliya Riaz, Anam Amin, Fatima Sana, and Nada Dar have been nominated for Women’s Cricketer of the Year for their outstanding performance in domestic and international matches.
Test cricketer of the year
The PCB has nominated four players, including Fawad Alam, Hassan Ali, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Abid Ali, for their outstanding performances in Test cricket for Pakistan during the year 2021.
T20 Cricketer of the Year
The PCB has nominated four players for their outstanding performances against the T20 World Cup and foreign teams, including Shaheen and Mohammad Rizwan, against India, while Shadab and Haris Rauf are under consideration.
Domestic Cricketer of the year
Iftikhar Ahmed, who won two titles for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in a single year, has been nominated by the PCB for Domestic Cricketer of the Year. In contrast, his team’s opener Sahibzada Farhan has been nominated in this category. Asif Afridi and Shoaib Malik’s nephew Muhammad Harira have also been nominated in the same category.
