Olympian Talha Talib won 1st medal for Pakistan in World Weightlifting Championship

Olympian Talha Talib won the first medal for Pakistan in the World Weightlifting Championship. At the World Weightlifting Championships in Tashkent, Talha Talib won a bronze medal by lifting 143kg in the 67kg snatch event.

Talha Talib, unfortunately, could not complete the competition in the clean and jerk event. But he managed to win the first medal in the world championship. In the event, Russia’s Zalfat Giro won gold and Uzbekistan’s friend Yukov Buff won silver.

Earlier in the Tokyo Olympics, young weightlifter Talha Talib had excelled and finished fifth in the 67kg category. Twenty-one-year-old Talha Talib weighed a total of 320kg but did not manage to win a medal.
