Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe by 115 runs in their first group match in the Under-19 World Cup. In the match being played at Diego Martin Cricket Stadium, Zimbabwe won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first. Batting first, Pakistan scored 315 runs in the stipulated 50 overs. Young Haseebullah Khan played an aggressive 135-run innings for Pakistan, hitting 10 fours and 4 sixes while Irfan Khan also scored 75 runs.

Chasing the target, Zimbabwe struggled, but middle-order batsman Brian Bennett resisted the national bowlers with 82-run innings. Against Pakistan, Zimbabwe was bowled out for 200 in 42.2 overs. For Zimbabwe, captain Emmanuel Bawa (5), Steven Shawl (16), Matthew Welch (26), David Bennett (13), and Tendikai Mataranica (26) stood out.
From Pakistan, Owais Ali led 6 while Zeeshan Zameer and Ahmad Khan led two players to the pavilion. It should be noted that the national under-19 cricket team will play its next match on January 20 against Afghanistan and on January 22 against Papua New Guinea. On the other hand, the New Zealand team is not participating in the event due to the country’s quarantine rules. So Scotland has been included in the event instead of the Kiwis.
