Pakistan will host the first Veterans Cricket World Cup in 2023. This will include players 40 years of age or older. According to the Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association, the 12-team tournament will start on September 23 with matches to be played at six venues in Karachi and the final of the event will be played on October 8. Other teams including India, Australia, England, and New Zealand will also be part of the event.

Chairman PVCA Fawad Ijaz said that this would be the first Cricket World Cup for the Over 40 Age Group. The event aims to bring former cricketers back on the field while giving young cricketers a chance to see their heroes play again. Organizers hope that legendary cricketers like Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, Younis Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq, Shoaib Akhtar, and Muhammad Hafeez will also attend the event. The matches of the event will consist of 45 overs per innings, with the semi-final and final matches of Pakistan being telecast live.
