Saturday’s sixth Pakistan Super League (PSL) match between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore will feature Their next game, against Quetta Gladiators, will also take place in Lahore on April 28.
Out of their five games, Multan Sultans have only won one—a 33-run triumph over Lahore Qalandars at Multan Cricket Stadium. Lahore Qalandars have lost three and managed two victories out of five games.
Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars have so far met 20 times; Multan has won 11 matches and Lahore has won nine.
Speaking to local media in Lahore on Friday, young fast bowler Ubaid Shah of Multan Sultans expressed delight with his personal performance in the competition and stayed hopeful of helping his team win the forthcoming matches.
Ubaid Shah stressed that family ties have nothing bearing on his performance when asked about facing his brother Naseem Shah, who represents Islamabad United.
“I never consider my brother representing the opposite side. At this level, Ubaid stated, it is all about rivalry and providing your team with your best performance.
The right-arm pacer also related a humorous incident during the encounter against Lahore Qalandars, whereby he unintentionally slapped wicketkeeper Usman Khan on the head while celebrating a wicket.
“I told Usman I was sorry following the incident; he playfully told me that the next time I took a wicket he would run toward me the same way. He did, but this time I took careful not to let the error resurfaced.” Ubaid said.
It is relevant to note that the youthful newly acquired pacer has so far taken seven wickets in four games, including a noteworthy 3/37 against Lahore Qalandars.
The 19-year-old bowler is happy with his thus far performance and thanks the captain and team administration for their ongoing support.
He also said that he always attempts to bowl aggressively from the outset to guarantee important breakthroughs, which help the team, and that he concentrates on carrying out the specified strategies.
