Pakistan started chasing the target of 508 runs, then on the last day, opener Imamul-Haq got out after scoring 49 runs. Wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan scored 37 runs. Fawad Alam was run out for one run while Agha Salman could score only 4 runs. At lunch, captain Babar Azam was at the crease with 76 runs.

After lunch, Babar Azam scored 81, Mohammad Nawaz 12, Yasir Shah 27 and Hasan Ali 11. Naseem Shah was dismissed for 18 runs. On behalf of Sri Lanka, Prabhath Jayasuriya took 5 wickets and Ramesh Mendis took 4 wickets. After lunch, Pakistan needed 320 runs in two sessions while Sri Lanka needed 5 wickets. Earlier, the Sri Lankan team declared the second innings 360 runs for 8 out. Sri Lanka had scored 378 runs in the first innings. Pakistan team was all out for 231 runs.
