Sri Lanka’s Daily News reported on Tuesday that a senior government official had held discussions with board officials. This event has been assured. The event is scheduled to be held from August 24 to September 10 and all the matches will be played at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, Colombo. It should be noted that a few days ago BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said that the UAE will host the Asia Cup 2022, he said that it is the only place where there will be no rain on these dates.

The six teams in the Asia Cup have been divided into two groups in which Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh have been placed together, while India, Pakistan and the qualifiers will be in the second group, with the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Kuwait. The teams will compete for the last place in the qualifiers. The tournament will be played in T20 format to help the teams prepare for the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia.
