Usman Shinwari joined Karachi Kings’s squad to replace injured Muhammad Ilyas

In the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Usman Shinwari has been included in the squad to replace the injured Muhammad Ilyas. A Karachi Kings spokesman had said in a statement yesterday that fast bowler Mohammad Ilyas has suffered a shoulder injury due to which doctors have advised him to rest for six months.

Mohammad Ilyas had suffered a match injury against Qalandars in the last few days, however, he completed bowling in the match after treatment. Karachi Kings have replaced Usman Muhammad Ilyas with Usman Shinwari. Shinwari was one of the reserve players of the PCB who was placed on standby as a substitute for the franchise. PSL’s technical committee has approved the inclusion of Usman Shinwari in the Karachi Kings squad as a replacement for Muhammad Ilyas.

It should be noted that Usman Shinwari was part of the BioSecure Bubble so he will not have to be quarantined to join the squad. On the other hand, Karachi Kings fast bowler Mohammad Amir will also be unable to represent Kings in the seventh edition of PSL due to injury. It may be recalled that the Karachi Kings team has played three matches so far in the current season of PSL but it has suffered defeat in all three.
