While earlier it was reported that Sri Lanka had opted out of hosting the event due to the internal political situation. According to Sri Lankan media, the Sri Lankan government has given the green signal to its cricket board to host the tournament.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Translation\"><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">Uncertainty remains regarding the venue of the Asia Cup 2022<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify\" data-placeholder=\"Translation\"><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\"> Sri Lanka&#8217;s Daily News reported on Tuesday that a senior government official had held discussions with board officials. This event has been assured. <\/span><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">The event is scheduled to be held from August 24 to September 10 and all the matches will be played at the R. Premadasa International <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cricket\">Cricket<\/a> Stadium, Colombo. The teams will compete for the last place in the qualifiers.
