Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by 3 runs | ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022

In the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup, Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by 3 runs after a thrilling encounter. Bangladesh won the toss and batted first and scored 150 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs. Najam Hussain Shanto scored 71, Afif Hussain 29 and Shakib Al Hasan scored 23 runs.

For Zimbabwe, Mujerbani and Nagerwa took 2, 2 while Williams and Alexander took one wicket each. Chasing a target of 151 runs, the Zimbabwean team could score only 147 runs for eight wickets. The last overs of the match were sensational, with Zimbabwe needing 16 runs in the last over. Zimbabwe needed 5 runs off the last ball to win. With the batsman out on the last ball of the match, Bangladesh started to celebrate their first victory in the Super 12 stage, both teams went back to the dugout. The third umpire declared the last ball a no-ball as Bangladesh wicketkeeper Noorul Hasan caught the ball ahead of the wicket and stumped the Zimbabwean batsman. But despite getting so much luck, Zimbabwe lost by 3 runs.
