The girls who participated in the women’s powerlifting competitions organized by a private club in Lahore proved their mettle by lifting heavyweights. When the powerlifting festival was organized in Lahore, the girls along with the men also tried hard. Talking to the media, the girls said that in the powerlifting championship, the gender-sensitive proved that women are not behind men in any field by lifting heavyweights. Girls from different cities showed off their talents by lifting weights. In the event, young and talented girl Sara Ali left everyone behind in weightlifting. Medals and shields were distributed among the winners at the end of the ceremony. When asked about the reaction of his village folks, Raisat came out with a very interesting answer in chaste Punjabi.

“Yes, they termed it a very queer activity for the girls. I told them, ‘You have no objection when these girls do all kinds of chores including carrying fodder for the cattle on their shoulders in the fields. It is you people who are reluctant to accept a girl as your daughter in law if she appears a little fat.’” One could not have a more convincing argument.
