Chasing the target, the Irish openers got off to a smoky start and scored 100 runs in 11 overs. Skipper Balberney played an innings of 37 runs and formed an opening partnership of 73 runs with Paul Stirling. After Balberney’s dismissal, Lorcan Tucker continued the aggressive batting with Paul Stirling and reached the target in the 18th over for the loss of just one wicket. Stirling scored 66 and Tucker 45 not out. West Indies are out of the T20 World Cup after losing to Ireland. West Indies won the T20 World Cup title in 2012 and 2016 and this is their first defeat at the global event.
