In the second match of T20 World Cup, Netherlands defeated UAE by 3 wickets. UAE won the toss and elected to bat first against the Netherlands in the match played at Kardinia Park in Australia. The poor bowling of the Netherlands bowlers prevented the UAE from setting a big target on the scoreboard.

The UAE team could only score 111 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Mohammad Wasim 41, Veritya Arvind 18, Kashif Dawood 15 and Chirag Suri were outstanding with 12 runs. Apart from him, none of the players could show remarkable performance. For the Netherlands, Bas de Leede took 3 wickets, Fred Klaasen took 2 wickets while Tim Pringle and Roelof van der Merwe took one wicket each. In pursuit of the target of runs, the Netherlands batsmen went ahead with confidence. The UAE bowlers made even a relatively easy target difficult with their nippy bowling. The Netherlands team managed to reach the target on the fifth ball of the last over and 7 players were dismissed.
