Ben Stokes has announced his retirement from ODI cricket

England Test cricket team captain and 2019 World Cup final hero Ben Stokes has announced his retirement from ODI cricket. Ben Stokes represented England in 104 ODIs, he will play his last ODI against South Africa on Tuesday. Ben Stokes announced the news on his official Twitter account with a picture of himself holding the 2019 World Cup trophy.

After making his ODI debut against Ireland in 2011, Stokes has scored 2919 runs, including three centuries, and taken 74 wickets in the format. Notably in the final of the World Cup 2019, he played a vital role in his team’s success, his unbeaten 84 helped send the match into the Super Over, after which England won the match in the Super Over.
