In the first eliminator of Pakistan Super League 7, Islamabad United defeated Peshawar Zalmi by 5 wickets. In the second eliminator, they will face Lahore Qalandars. Islamabad United completed the target of 170 runs given by Peshawar Zalmi in the first eliminator of PSL 7 at a loss of 5 wickets in 19.3 overs.

Opener Alex Hales played a brilliant inning of 62 runs, he hit 3 sixes and 6 fours off 49 balls, Azam Khan scored 28 runs, Shadab Khan scored 22 runs, Faheem Ashraf scored 19 runs and Liam Dawson scored 11 runs. For Peshawar Zalmi, Salman Irshad sent three players to the pavilion while Khalid Usman and Benny Howell took one wicket each. Captain Wahab Riaz gave 52 runs in 4 overs but he did not get any wicket. Earlier in the match played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and elected to bat and scored 169 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

Fours and two sixes were included, Hussain Talat 28 and Mohammad Haris 12 runs were out. For Islamabad United, Hassan Ali gave away 30 runs and dismissed 3 players. Faheem Ashraf and Shadab Khan also took one wicket each.
