Multan Sultans defeated Karachi Kings by 7 wickets in the opening match of the seventh edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL). In the match being played at the National Stadium in Karachi, Karachi Kings batted first and scored 124 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

The innings for Karachi Kings were started by opener Sharjeel Khan and captain Babar Azam, however, Sharjeel’s aggressive innings of 43 runs remained prominent. In pursuit of the target, Multan Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan played responsible innings of 52 runs while opener Shaun Masood scored 26 and Sohaib Maqsood 30 runs. For Karachi, Mohammad Nabi took two wickets while Mohammad Ilyas took one. Karachi Kings opener Sharjeel Khan says that match conditions against Multan Sultans were not easy.

The opener of Karachi Kings said that captain Babar Azam and my understanding is good, the Kings did not get a chance to practice before the match which led to defeat in the opening match. Sharjeel Khan said that conditions were difficult in the match against Multan Sultans while the pitch was also helping the bowlers.

“We have not been able to practice in the stadium for a single day, hopefully, we will get good pitches in the future,” he complained.
