Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the tri-nation T20 tournament. In the match played in Christchurch, New Zealand, Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first and scored 173 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted overs. Latin Das top scored for Bangladesh with 69 runs while Shakib Al Hasan played his turn with 68 runs. For Pakistan, Naseem Shah and Muhammad Wasim Jr got 2, 2 and Muhammad Nawaz got one out. Chasing the target of 174 runs, Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam opened the batting. Both made a partnership of 101 runs. Meanwhile, Babar Azam scored another half-century of his own.

At 101, Pakistan suffered two shocks in the form of Babar Azam and Haider Ali, both of whom were sent to the pavilion by Hasan Mahmood in the same over. Babar Azam 55 while Haider Ali was out without opening the account. Muhammad Nawaz once again entered the field at number four and batted smoky. By the time Bangladesh got their third win at 165 runs in the form of Mohammad Rizwan, it was too late. Muhammad Nawaz and Asif Ali made Pakistan win in just one ball. Nawaz played an innings of 45 runs off 20 balls and was not out. Mohammad Rizwan was declared player of the match for playing an innings of 69 runs. The final of the tournament will be played between Pakistan and New Zealand on October 14th.
