PCB announced the performance of players and match officials during the 2021 Awards

The PCB announced on various social media platforms that the performance of players and match officials during the 2021 Awards would be appreciated. According to the list released by the PCB, fast bowler, Shaheen Shah Afridi has been shortlisted in five different categories. The 21-year-old fast bowler has been named in the categories of Outstanding Performance of the Year, T20 International Cricketer of the Year, ODI International Cricketer of the Year, Test Cricketer of the Year, and Most Valuable Cricketer of the Year.

In Calendar Year 2021, Shaheen Shah Afridi performed brilliantly in all three styles of cricket. He took 47 wickets in 9 Test matches, eight wickets in 6 ODIs, and 23 wickets in 21 T20s. His three wickets for 31 runs against India in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 is one of the most impressive performances of the year. In addition to these, there are three other nominations in this category.

All players, including Shaheen Shah Afridi, have been nominated by a 10-member independent panel, which includes former international cricketers, broadcasters, and media representatives. The PCB will announce the winners of the awards through a virtual digital show. The digital display will be broadcast live on PCB’s official YouTube and Facebook channels on Thursday, January 6, at 7 pm.

On the other hand, Mohammad Rizwan has also been nominated in the categories of Most Impressive Performance of the Year, T20 International Cricketer of the Year, and Most Valuable Cricketer of the Year. Hassan Ali has been shortlisted for Most Impressive Performance of the Year, Test Cricketer of the Year, and Most Valuable Cricketer of the Year. Babar Azam, Fawad Alam, and Haris Rauf have also been shortlisted in two categories of awards.
