Peshawar Zalmi defeated Karachi Kings by 55 runs | PSL 7

In the 19th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Peshawar Zalmi defeated Karachi Kings by 55 runs to make it the sixth consecutive defeat in the event. In the match being played at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, Karachi Kings captain Babar Azam decided to field first after winning the toss. Zalmai scored 193 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

The Kings did not have a good start in pursuit of the target. Opener Sharjeel Khan was dismissed for 14. In the second wicket partnership, captain Babar Azam and Joe Clarke formed a partnership of 60 runs but Clarke lost 26 wickets. Captain Babar Azam scored 59 runs, his innings included 5 fours, other players Muhammad Nabi 15, Kok Ben 14, Amir Yameen were out without scoring a run.

For Peshawar Zalmi, Salman Irshad and Wahab Riaz took two wickets each while Liam Livingston and Umar Khan took one wicket each. Earlier, Peshawar Zalmai’s innings were started by Mohammad Haris and Hazratullah Zazai. In the first wicket partnership, the two batsmen formed a partnership of 97 runs. Harris was dismissed for 49 while Zazai scored 52 runs. Zalmi’s other batsmen included Liam Livingston (6), Shoaib Malik (31), and Ben Cutting (26). Poor fielding was demonstrated by Karachi Kings.

King’s fielders dropped five matches of Zalmi’s players. Chris Jordan took 3 wickets while Qasim Akram and Mohammad Nabi took one wicket each. It should be noted that the second match of the event will be played today between Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators. It may be recalled that after successive defeats in the event, the Karachi Kings team has been eliminated from the tournament
