Peshawar Zalmi defeated Quetta Gladiators by 24 runs | PSL 7

In the 22nd match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Peshawar Zalmi defeated Quetta Gladiators by 24 runs to reach the knockout stage. In the match being played at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, Peshawar Zalmi’s captain Wahab Riaz decided to bat first after winning the toss. Also, in the allotted 20 overs, Zalmi scored 185 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.

When Quetta Gladiators started the innings, none of the batsmen except Will Smith could match Zalmi’s bowlers. He scored 99 runs in his innings which included three sixes and 12 fours. Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed 25, Iftikhar Ahmed 10, Umar Akmal one while James Vance lost the wicket without scoring a run.

For Zalmi, Usman Qadir took three wickets while Liam Livingston, Salman Irshad, and Hussain Talat took one wicket each. Earlier, batting first, he scored 185 runs in 20 overs thanks to the innings of vice-captain Shoaib Malik and Hussain Talat.

Ben Cutting batted aggressively in the closing moments of the first innings and scored 36 off 14 balls. On the other hand, young batsman Hussain Talat played an innings of 51 runs with the help of 6 fours and a six. For Quetta Gladiators, Naseem Shah took 4 wickets while Ghulam Mudassir, Khurram Shehzad, and Iftikhar Ahmed took one wicket each.
