The second Test match between Pakistan and Australia was drawn in Karachi after a thrilling contest. On the last day of the game, Pakistan started the second innings at 192 for 2 in pursuit of the 506-run target.

Babar Azam and Abdullah Shafiq cautiously pushed the score forward. Before the lunch break, Abdullah Shafiq scored 96 and was caught by Steve Smith off Cummins. Babar Azam and Abdullah Shafiq shared 228 runs. Fawad Alam was dismissed for just 9 runs. Babar Azam played an innings of 196 runs. He also became the first captain in Test cricket to play the largest total innings in the fourth innings. Wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan scored a magnificent century. Nathan Lyon took 4 wickets for Australia.

 

Australia declared 556 for 9 in the first innings. Pakistan scored 148 in the first innings. Australia declared the second innings at 97 for 2. Pakistan scored 443 runs in the second innings and lost seven wickets. The first two matches of the three-Test series were drawn. The last Test match of the series will be played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore from Monday, March 21.
