Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi has strongly reacted to the sentencing of Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik in India. In a message on the social networking site Twitter, former national cricket team captain Shahid Afridi said that India was constantly trying to stifle voices over human rights violations.

He said that fabricated allegations against Yasin Malik could not stop Kashmiris from fighting for independence. Shahid Afridi urged the United Nations to take notice of the illegal and unjust trial against Kashmiri leaders. He also shared his picture on Twitter with Kashmiri and Pakistani flags.
