Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by 2 wickets after a thrilling match in the crucial match of the Asia Cup. Sri Lanka crossed the target of 184 runs with 4 balls to spare. The win took Sri Lanka into the Super Four stage while Bangladesh crashed out of the tournament. Kosal Mendis of Sri Lanka scored 60 off 37 balls while Dasun Shanaka scored 45 runs. For Bangladesh, Ibadan Hussain dismissed 3 players and Tasin Ahmed dismissed 2 players.

Batting first, Bangladesh scored 183 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs and had set Sri Lanka a target of 184 runs. Mehdi Hasan scored 38 and Afif Hussain scored 39 runs for Bangladesh, while Sri Lanka’s Vinandu Hasaranga and Chamika Karun Ratne took 2 and 2 respectively. Earlier at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Sri Lankan captain Dasan Shanka won the toss and invited Bangladesh to bat first. Afghanistan team has already qualified for the Super Four by defeating Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
