Referees and assistant referees for the Women’s Football League, who are all women, say the new professional league has increased funding for female players, but the referees’ concerns have not been addressed. The president of the New Women’s Football League, Beatriz Alvarez, has placed all the responsibility for this situation on the Spanish Football Federation and government officials in charge of sports policy.
